CA Aldosivi vs Racing Club Predictions

Sunday’s Superliga Argentina action sees Aldosivi going up against league leaders Racing Club. The visitors will be looking to claim all 3 points in order to keep their title push going

It’s been an excellent campaign for Aldosivi so far upon their return to the top flight. Los Tiburones have looked strong and currently stand an impressive 9th, with their 23 point total from 15 games putting them well clear of the drop zone on the average points table used to relegate sides to the B Nacional.

Aldosivi ended 2018 in strong fashion, putting together an unbeaten run of 4 matches, 2 of which wins, and will be looking to pick up where they left off with a strong performance in Sunday’s match. Still needing a few points to be assured of safety, the hosts cannot afford to put their feet up in their remaining 10 games but they can be under no illusions as regards the size of the task at hand here, with the league leaders in town.

Eduardo Coudet has done an impressive job since taking over Racing and has transformed the team into real title candidates. La Academia have quality all over the pitch and are extremely potent going forward and said traits have made them a real force so far this season, having won 11 of their 15 matches, scoring an average of 1.73 goals a game in the process.

In pole position, it’s certainly Racing’s title to lose and it’s important that they get off to a good start to the year in this short trip to Mar del Plata. The visitors certainly won’t arrive in apprehensive mood as they are very good travellers, something more than evidenced by the fact they’ve won 5 of their last 6 away games.

Ultimately, although Aldovisi have punched well above their weight and have been an impressive outfit, asking them to go blow for blow with Racing looks a very big ask. On paper, Racing possess far more quality than them and that’s something reflected in the 13 point gap between the two in the standings.

All things considered, we just cannot envisage Racing slipping up on Sunday and are more than happy to back an away win with full confidence, as a result. Aldosivi will provide a degree of resistance but Racing’s attacking quality should see them prove too strong, with a 3-1 margin of away victory on the cards.
