Cambuur Leeuwarden vs FC Den Bosch Predictions

Cambuur staged a thrilling fightback against FC Eindhoven on Friday night to stay in the hunt for a Play-off place, and Rene Hake’s charges will have momentum on their side this Monday when they entertain a Den Bosch outfit who have won just one of their last seven league matches. Can the hosts bag a vital three points to potentially move into the top nine?

Following a drab goalless opening 45 minutes, Friday’s encounter between FC Eindhoven and Cambuur at Jan Louwers Stadion really sparked into life in the second half and it looked for all money as if the Leeuwarden side were done for after falling 2-0 behind on the hour mark.

But they managed to find a way back into the contest five minutes later through Kevin van Kippersluis, and with just seconds remaining in stoppage time, Sam Hendriks struck to earn Cambuur a crucial point which keeps them firmly in touch with the Play-off places with three games left.

And Hake’s side will be confident of accruing a decent haul of points from their remaining matches – as after this Monday’s encounter with Den Bosch they host an MVV side who they beat 1-2 earlier this term before a visit to leaders Twente who are likely to have already sewn up automatic promotion.

After such a fine effort to get something out of Friday’s game, Cambuur may struggle with this quick turnaround however opponents Den Bosch look there for the taking at present.

Wil Boessen’s men have fallen to 6th now after a shoddy 2-2 home draw with bottom side Jong Utrecht on match day 35, and that result means that The Blue White Dragons have won just one of their last seven and two from their last 14 in the league.

The visitors have drawn two and lost five of their last seven on the road and have been beaten in their last three by an aggregate score of 9-1 following a 3-1 defeat at Almere City ten days ago.

So whilst Den Bosch haven’t lost an Eerste Divisie fixture in Leeuwarden since 2012, we fancy that to change here and the hosts look a decent bet to secure the points after winning two of their last three at Cambuurstadion.

With Cambuur netting 18 goals in their last seven outings and Den Bosch’s frail rear-guard shipping 17 over the same period, we think there will be plenty of goals in this one too and we’re forecasting a 4-1 correct score in favour of the home side.
