Chaves vs Sporting Lisbon Predictions

Chaves need to find form

It’s been a desperately poor run for Chaves, who have now registered just one win in their last ten matches in all competitions.

That spell includes four defeats, three of them on home soil, where they have managed merely two victories in the Primeira Liga this season.

Those successes have both come against teams in the bottom half of the table as well, with Vítor Campelos’ side seeming to fade away after a strong start to the campaign, their first back in the Portuguese top flight.

Sporting need some consistency

Sporting Lisbon on the other hand are fourth in the division, and were one of Chaves’ early-season victims, losing the return fixture in Lisbon 2-0.

Their form of late has been much better though, and includes four wins from the last six away games in all competitions, including over Rio Ave and Famalicao in the league.

Indeed, Rúben Amorim’s side have won three of their last four top flight matches, the only anomaly being a defeat to high-flying Porto.

I predict that Sporting Lisbon will win this game, with 2-1 my correct score prediction.
