Chesterfield vs Rochdale Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Things continue to go poorly for the hosts and, at this point in the season, they’re looking very much down and out. Gary Caldwell’s men have won just one of their last 12 matches and are without a home win in six. Against the play-off-chasing Rochdale, the hosts could once again struggle.

Although their recent record is perhaps a tad patchy, the visiting side are pretty strong, especially from an attacking point of view, and are expected to be able to hurt this Chesterfield team. Backing the visitors to score ‘Over 1.5 Goals’ makes plenty of sense.

Make no mistake about it, Rochdale have struggled to match their impressive home form on the road this season, but a match against what looks to be an already relegated Chesterfield provides an excellent opportunity for the them to get among the goals. After all, they’re likely to be confident having notched three against the previously sturdy Millwall during the week. In addition, Rochdale have scored at least twice in four of their last five matches.

Conceding goals has been commonplace for Chesterfield in recent weeks. The hosts have kept just two clean sheets in their last ten fixtures, and even one of those was against relegation rivals Swindon. Considering Rochdale are likely to come on strong, Caldwell’s men could find it tough to keep up.

The fact that they’ve conceded five in their last two matches certainly doesn’t bode well for Chesterfield either.

With the likes of Ian Henderson and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing in their ranks, Rochdale have more than enough quality to do some damage against a poor team and are fancied to continue their strong scoring form by notching another two goals in this fixture.
