      Chievo vs Bologna Predictions

Chievo remain on the bottom of the Serie A table, and they continue to wait to hit that zero point milestone. The Gialloblu sit on minus one point following a three point deduction earlier in their campaign, while their form has been terrible of late. They’ve been unable to get onto a positive points balance for weeks now, and they head into this clash with major fears that things are about to get a lot worse. Will Bologna come here and add to the hosts problems, or will this be a long-awaited home win?

Chievo were beaten 2-0 by Sassuolo last weekend, in ridiculous circumstances. Already a goal down, former Sunderland man Emanuele Giaccherini scored a hilarious own goal, as he chested the ball back to his own goalkeeper – who was sprawled out on the ground. There was little more telling of Chievo’s current situation than that strike. They currently have the country against them after they were found guilty of inflating transfer income to stay in Serie A, and then they made a move for Gian Piero Ventura – the manager who led Italy to failure in the World Cup qualifiers.

Things could get even worse for Chievo here, as they meet a Bologna side who aren’t flying too high themselves. They are 17th in the table, and they come into this one just three points above the bottom three. They do have a 10 point lead over the bottom side, and they could extend that lead even further with a victory. At the moment, the middle and lower section of the table are full of out of form sides, while the giants continue their sparkling runs of form. That means that facing Chievo is a brilliant way to turn things around, something Bologna boss Pippo Inzaghi will recognise ahead of this one.

The hosts are faced with several injury concerns, on top of their woes in the league. The hosts are in awful form, having lost their last seven matches. Ventura’s arrival hasn’t given them a boost, and the former Italy boss doesn’t seem to have a plan when it comes to saving them from the drop. We’re expect more problems for the Gialloblu here, as Bologna look to boost their form.

Despite losing to Atalanta last weekend, Bologna have been okay of late. They went into their last game after back to back 2-2 draws with Torino and Sassuolo. With the visitors finally finding an edge in front of goal, they should see this is a chance to get points on the road. We’re tipping Bologna to win on the Draw No Bet market.
