      Chievo vs Parma Predictions

Serie A’s bottom side were facing a tough end to the season, after having their relegation confirmed. However, the hosts were able to pull off an impressive 2-1 victory at Lazio last weekend, a result which gave their suffering fans a bit of joy. They were able to dent one of the Champions League contenders with the pressure off, but how will they fare against one of the three promoted sides? Parma are effectively taking up Chievo’s top flight place, so will the Gialloblu follow up last weekend’s win?

Chievo have struggled for form all season, as they’ve got just 14 points to their name after 33 games. They’ve conceded 68 goals so far this season, while no side in the league has fewer points than them at home. The Gialloblu have lost 10 times at their own ground this season, so they’re hardly a team to rush out and back for a home victory. Three straight defeats at this ground have left them on their way to Serie B, but can they boost that form now that the pressure is off?

Parma also managed to deliver a blow to a Champions League hopeful. They draw 1-1 with AC Milan, which allowed the sides around the Rossoneri to close the gap. However, the visitors needed more than that, as they come into this one without a win in their last six games. They made a brilliant start to the season after promotion, but a poor run has left them only seven points clear of the bottom three.

While Parma aren’t heading down, it’s not a great way for them to finish after such a bright return. Ultimately, it’s results against the lesser sides in Italy which have made the difference for Parma, They’ve lost just one against the bottom six this season, with their away trips turning out to be pretty memorable. They’ve seen at least three goals in all of their away trips to the struggling sides, while both teams have scored in all of those four as well.

Parma come here having conceded in 81% of their trips, while they face a Chievo side who showed what they can do in last weekend’s big victory. Meanwhile, the Gialloblu have kept a clean sheet in just 15% of their Serie A games this season. They drew 1-1 in the reverse fixture, while the hosts have conceded in eight on the bounce. We’re backing both teams to score as a result, as these two defences look vulnerable.
