Chikhura Sachkhere vs Aberdeen Predictions

Having got the better of opposition from Luxembourg in the previous round, winning by two goals to one both home and away, Chikhura, who hail from the Georgian capital of Tbilisi, will be looking to extend their foray into continental football. Much of the same can be said for Scottish outfit Aberdeen, who came through the previous round thanks to a back-to-back 2-1 win over RoPS of Finland.

Chikura aren’t exactly well known, even among fans of Europa League qualification, though they did a good job during the last round, especially on their own patch. In facing opposition from Luxembourg, the Georgians delivered a respectable performance at Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena, posting 1.31 expected goals for and conceding 0.97. The fact they registered double Fola’s shots, and triple the shots on target, is pleasing. That said, Aberdeen are much better than Fola, so the hosts may be required to up their game.

Despite what appeared to be two narrow victories, Aberdeen impressed against RoPS, as they dominated both home and away. The fact that they won by just two goals to one on the road does suggest that there wasn’t a great deal between the pair, though the fact that the Scottish side clocked 2.55 expected goals and conceded only 0.57 tells us that they were comfortable winners.

In the betting, ‘Aberdeen to Win & Under 3.5 Goals’ looks like a viable option. The manner in which Aberdeen outclassed RoPS on the road in the last round suggests that they can get the better of the hosts, though we shouldn’t expect the visitors to run riot.

Chikhura, as we saw when they created a modest 1.31 expected goals for at home during the previous round, offer a limited threat going forward, but they’re no strangers to keeping the score-line respectable on their own patch. Since 2017, the Georgians have conceded just two goals in four home UEL qualifiers. Add in the fact that Aberdeen have not scored more than twice on the road in UEL qualifying since 2017 and a low-scoring away victory appeals most.
