Hartlepool improving under new management

They may have the worst away record in League Two, but Hartlepool have shown they are moving in the right direction under new manager Graeme Lee.

The Monkey Hangers have won just once on the road in the league, at Bradford, losing on eight occasions, but they have already beaten Lincoln and Sheffield Wednesday away from home in the cup this month.

They have kept three clean sheets since Lee’s arrival, showing they are building from the back, and I fancy they could get an important three points in this one against a struggling Colchester side.

United struggling

The Us sit just six points above the League Two relegation zone and their home form is a large factor in their struggles, already suffering four defeats at the Colchester Community Stadium.

Their problem is that they do not score too many goals, netting only ten times in their ten home games, and that is a serious concern going into a clash against a Hartlepool side who have tightened up at the back.

Hayden Mullins’ side have kept just one home clean sheet this season as well, and although they have won two of their last three home league games, one of those was against struggling Scunthorpe.

I think they will find an improving Hartlepool a tough assignment, so predict the visitors will win, but both teams are capable of scoring, so predict a 2-1 correct scoreline.
