Colchester vs Crewe Predictions

It’s the beginning of another tough season in League Two and that is exactly what has proven to be the prospect for both Colchester United and Crewe Alexandra so far. The pair have the opportunity to improve how their campaign has started this Tuesday evening when they clash at the Colchester Community Stadium.

The hosts held our pick for the League Two title this season, Notts County, to a frustrating 0-0 draw on the opening day to the campaign and they built on their success in that fixture with a 2-0 win over a Port Vale side we also expect to have a good season. A defeat on penalties in the League Cup followed but that proved to only be a minor bump in the road as they held another of the title favourites, Mansfield Town, to a 1-1 draw this weekend.

Crewe started their season in pretty emphatic fashion as they destroyed a Morecambe side who are most people’s pick for relegation this season 6-0. However, since that win they have found things much tougher and with just one goal scored in their next three matches, it appears they may have got all their goalscoring out of their system on the opening day.

The hosts have built their success in the league so far on the back of a solid defence and they have conceded just once in three league matches. This, combined with the fact that the visitors have scored just once in their last three matches leads us to believe that backing ‘Both Teams to Score – No’ is the way to go.
