Crawley Town vs Macclesfield Predictions

As we approach the business end of the season, there are plenty of sides in League Two who are still jostling for position as they attempt to accomplish their goals as soon as possible. At the bottom end of the division, the fight for survival is hotting up nicely and this weekend Macclesfield Town have the opportunity to potentially lift themselves from the drop zone as they make the trip to a Crawley Town side who are still not yet sure of their own survival.

Crawley Town have only scored two goals in their last six league matches after a goalless draw at Northampton last weekend. That lack of offensive output will be something which is a real concern for the Red Devils and, unsurprisingly, it also means that they have had a pretty poor points return of late. The hosts have failed to win their last three outings and they know that if they fall to defeat this weekend, the gap to their visitors will be just five points.

Macclesfield Town have gone without a league victory in four matches but have drawn consecutive games against Crewe Alexandra and Colchester United. The Silkmen were re-invigorated when Sol Campbell was appointed as their manager but their recent form has stalled, and this is largely down to their inability to keep the ball out of the net. Although Town have found their shooting boots, they will be concerned with the amount of goals which have gone in at the other end and this will no doubt be the main point Campbell is making in the build up to this key fixture.

The hosts may be out of form in front of goal at the moment, but they do have a decent scoring record overall and that is especially true when on home soil. They are also facing off against a pretty leaky defence and, when you also consider that the visitors have scored in each of their last five away matches, we think that backing both teams to find the back of the net represents the best opportunity for a decent return.
