Germany look near certainties to win this group, particularly having starting with convincing back-t0-back wins but 2nd place is really up for grabs with Czech Republic perhaps favourites, although after a bright start Azerbaijan might just be in the shake-up too.

It is two wins from two games for Azerbaijan so far. The first was a nervy 1-0 win away from home against 10 man San Marino that did little to suggest they would bring much to this group. However, they picked up an excellent 1-0 home win against Norway on Saturday and will come into this game on a real high as a result. For a side that won just once in Euro 2016 qualifying, they look to have made forward strides but even during that campaign they were mostly a tough side to break down, battling to 0-0 draws against Croatia and Norway.

They are likely to come here with a cautious approach and would certainly gladly take a point back to Baku, so the Czechs are going to have to be patient here and try and work for their openings. Euro 2016 demonstrated they aren’t the most creative side and they are yet to score in World Cup qualifying following a 0-0 draw against Northern Ireland and a 3-0 weekend defeat in Germany.

Azerbaijan will most likely look to replicate what the Northern Irish did when they visited last month and this has the potential to be another frustrating evening for the hosts. Azerbaijan don’t score many goals though so they are unlikely to pose much threat of their own and a low scoring game is likely to be the result.

Therefore backing under 2.5 goals at Evens looks a pretty safe bet here.
