Czech Republic vs Brazil Predictions

Czech Republic were completely outclassed when they paid a visit to Wembley on Friday as they kicked off their Euro 2020 qualifying efforts. A rampant England hit five past Jiri Pavlenka, with Raheem Sterling proving particularly deadly in front of goal as he bagged a hat trick.

Now, another Manchester City attacker will be hoping to make the same sort of impact as the Czechs go up against the international powerhouse of Brazil. Gabriel Jesus is expected to come into the starting lineup after starting from the bench last time out in what was a poor showing from the Brazilians.

They laboured to a 1-1 draw at home against Panama, halting a six match winning streak and conceding their first goal since the World Cup ended last summer. It was a largely experimental defensive setup from Tite and he’s likely to revert back to a more familiar back line as they prepare for the upcoming Copa America.

Prior to this dismal showing against Panama, Brazil had looked utterly impenetrable at the back since Belgium dumped them out of Russia 2018. They have kept clean sheets against the likes of Argentina and Uruguay and continued that trend against their less talented opponents.

Czech Republic, on the other hand, offered very little going forward against England and only managed to muster two shots on target. They will come up against a Brazil side who haven’t conceded an away goal since November 2017 as well, so the odds are firmly stacked against the hosts here.

Any tournament where Brazil don’t reach the final is a disappointment for them, but Tite will be desperate to make up for their early World Cup exit with a Copa America win later this year. It goes without saying that every match matters for them right now, and we’re likely to see the likes of Thiago Silva and Marquinhos returning to the back line to reapply the defensive solidity that was lacking against Panama.

Given just how solid Brazil’s defence have been lately, them keeping a clean sheet looks very likely on Tuesday. Czech Republic’s confidence will have been marred by their mauling in London last time out, so backing a Brazil Win to Nil along with a 2-0 correct score prediction looks a good move here.
