Dalkurd vs Brommapojkarna Predictions

This is a really big game at the bottom of the Swedish Allsvenskan as it resumes following its mid-season break. These sides currently both lie in the bottom three with Brommapojkarna five points better off than their opponents and currently sitting in the relegation play-off place, while Dalkurd are right now on course for relegation.

There’s plenty of time for all that to change though and this is a particularly big game for the hosts, who along with bottom club Sirius are in danger of getting cut adrift at the foot of the table. Dalkurd’s story is an interesting one, in that they were formed only 13 years ago by Kurdish refugees and have made remarkable progress to the top flight but they have looked out of their depth at this level so far.

They were promoted alongside Brommapojkarna from the Superettan last term. However with all three promoted sides currently in the bottom four of the Allsvenskan, the gulf in quality between the two tiers is clear. Brommapojkarna have been more competitive but they’ve really found life difficult away from home where they are yet to even collect a point and that explains why Dalkurd are the clear bookies favourites here.

Dalkurd, who switched managers over the break, aren’t good enough to run away with it though and it’s a match that should produce goals at each end. 75% of Dalkurd’s home games this season have done just that. Defensively they’ve been very poor at times, conceding 2.09 goals per game on average, the second worst record in the division. However they’ve scored in all of their home fixtures and against this opposition, it looks highly likely that we will see that particular trend continue.

60% of Brommapojkarna’s away games have also seen both teams score. They have tried to have a go away but it just hasn’t worked out from them, although this is probably their best chance to pick up their first away point of the campaign up against one of the two sides below them. They ought to be fairly positive again and target three point, which would give them some breathing space on the automatic relegation positions.

Defensively though they are also very unreliable having let in 2.8 goals per game on average away. With both sides making so many errors at the back, going for Over 2.5 Goals looks like it could be the smart bet in this one.
