Dalkurd vs Afc United Predictions

Dalkurd are having an excellent season so far. The club, at just over ten years old, has enjoyed a very successful start to life as they achieved promotion five seasons in a row before slowly improving in Sweden’s 3rd tier. They finally got their break into the Superettan last season when they won their 6th separate title since their inception in 2004, and now they’re looking like a possible addition to the Allsvenskan next season.

They come into this match in 4th position in the Superettan with an impressive 25 points from their opening 13 games. They have a game in hand on leaders Halmstad too, meaning they could move to within a point of them if they take advantage.

Dalkurd’s 1-0 win at Orgryte last weekend made it four wins in a row for them and extended their unbeaten streak to eight league matches. They have only conceded one goal in their last five matches too, so there is plenty to be pleased about if you’re a Dalkurd supporter.

AFC United’s season isn’t going too badly either. They finished in mid-table last term, but this year they’re looking like genuine contenders for the top spot and a foray into the Allsvenskan. Coming into this match they find themselves in 2nd position, three points adrift of the leaders and with a game in hand. But whilst a win could put them at the top of the table, a defeat could see them drop to 4th.

Last time out they lost as well as they travelled to Varnamo and came away on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline. This ended their three match winning streak and relegated them to their 3rd league defeat of the season. All of these defeats have come away from home too, meaning they have only picked up ten points from their seven away days this season.

Dalkurd, on the other hand, are unbeaten at home this season. They have won three and drawn three of their home games, scoring 14 goals and conceding five, whilst AFC United have scored seven and conceded eight on the road.

I fancy Dalkurd for this one. They have been in excellent form recently and are facing a visiting side who are fresh from an away defeat. Odds of 17/20 for my prediction of a Dalkurd win look good too, so I’m backing that along with a 2-1 correct score prediction at 15/2.
