Doncaster vs Blackpool Predictions

The busy league schedule means that sides in the lower divisions of English football have little opportunity to digest their performance at the weekend, as they are thrust straight back into action just a few days later. This Tuesday evening sees a key battle in League One as two promotion hunting sides go head to head when Doncaster Rovers welcome Blackpool to the Keepmoat Stadium.

After being in and around the promotion picture for the past few seasons, Doncaster Rovers will be hoping that they are finally able to kick on and earn a spot in the Championship once again. The hosts have started the season well and they go into this match undefeated in their opening six league matches and despite having as many as two games in hand on their competitors, they remain well placed in the league.

Making the trip to the Keepmoat Stadium is a Blackpool side who appear to have finally put their off the field troubles to bed after a turbulent few years. The Tangerines appear to be on the up and have started the season well, however, they go into this match having lost on their last two league outings and given that they have conceded three times in each of those two defeats, there will be plenty of cause for concern.

With the hosts looking solid and undefeated this season, they will be confident in their ability to earn the three points. Although the visitors have an excellent record in the head to head between these two sides, the last two defeats are hard to ignore, especially considering how many goals were conceded. With this in mind, backing a home win is the way to go.

However, for those of you looking for an increased return, it is worth noting that all of Doncaster’s home matches in the league have finished with both teams scoring and Blackpool have only failed to score in 25% of their outings so far.

Throw in the fact that four of the last five meetings between these two sides has finished with both teams finding the back of the net, then it means that backing both teams to score and combining it with our initial tip of a home win looks to represent a good opportunity, and one which is also reflected in our tip for the correct score.
