Steelmen have brilliant record against Dundee

Motherwell are going well after back-to-back Premiership wins and should prove too strong for a Dundee side that have been destroyed twice recently on their own patch.

The Dark Blues were taken apart by Ross County in a 5-0 Dens’ Park disaster late last month before suffering a 4-2 reverse to a resurgent Celtic at the start of November. James McPake’s side were probably glad of the weekend off they got after the international break and it was surely spent ironing out their issues on the training ground.

Whether they can reverse the form against a Well side that have dominated them in recent league encounters remains to be seen. Lee Ashcroft headed in the winner the last time the teams met at Dens Park to earn Dundee a League Cup victory, but their previous eight meetings had all gone the way of the Steelmen.

Motherwell have also subsequently beaten them at Fir Park when finishing the game with ten men, so it seems that the visitors just have their number.

Alexander’s side will give everything 

Graham Alexander’s side are not the prettiest in the league, but they have plenty of grit and rarely give anything less than their maximum. Those are the sort of qualities anybody wanting to bet on them will gladly accept and we are more than happy with the odds on offer for them to win this weekend too.

Motherwell’s only two away defeats this season came against in-form Hearts and Dundee United while they fought out a 1-1 draw at Ibrox, so winning another one at Dens Park looks a much easier task. We’re supporting a 2-0 margin for the visitors as it would be the third such scoreline on the bounce for Alexander’s team.
