Reason For Eintracht Frankfurt vs FC Vaduz Betting Tips

Going to face minnows Vaduz did look like a potential banana-skin trip for Frankfurt, though the Germans made light work of brushing aside their opponents in Liechtenstein a week ago, so much so that this second leg is somewhat pointless. Then again, Adi Hutter’s men can view it as another opportunity to build momentum ahead of the fast-approaching Bundesliga campaign, which is now less than a week away.

Despite playing away from home, Frankfurt, who had no shortage of fans with them in Vaduz, – roughly half the population of the Liechtenstein capital –  asserted themselves in the first leg, as they won by five goals to nil. Going forward, as they created 2.48 expected goals for, registered 25 shots, eight of which hit the target, the German outfit were strong, while they came under almost no pressure at the other end, as they surrendered just 0.17 expected goals and three shots, none of which tested Felix Wiedwald, who had a very quiet evening in between the sticks for Frankfurt.

Having lost the first leg by five goals to nil, Vaduz go to Germany with literally no hope of qualifying. At this point, the only aim for the side that currently plays in the Swiss second division is to avoid being embarrassed for the second time in a week, though it’s easy to feel that Thursday’s visitors are in for another tough evening.

Aside from getting battered last week, Vaduz have struggled on the road in qualifying. They did draw with Breidablik, but they were bettered in all areas, as they failed to score and created only 0.70 expected goals for. During the previous round, they lost away against Vidi, creating only 0.51 expected goals and failing to score in the process. Such offensive numbers do not bode well, nor does the fact that they offered very little resistance last week.

In the betting, those looking for a route in can try ‘Frankfurt to Win & Under 3.5 Goals’, which of all the options available, looks the one that may just be a tad overpriced.

The Germans did run riot on foreign shores a week ago, though that result should mean that boss Adi Hutter rings the changes in order to keep players fresh for the start of the Bundesliga campaign. If we add in the fact that the visitors will be desperate to avoid another hammering, alongside the fact that Frankfurt scored only twice, posting 2.14 expected goals for in the process, when beating similarly weak opposition at home during the previous round, and it’s easy to feel that the chances of a less explosive home win are greater than the current odds suggest.
