England U21 vs Bosnia-Herzegovina U21 Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

England qualified for the European Under 21 Championships next summer thanks to a 1-0 win in Kazakhstan last week. A single goal from Demarai Gray was enough to get the job done and as such this game becomes effectively a friendly for England. They may opt to try a few new things although Aidy Boothroyd isn’t guaranteed to keep the job into 2017 depending on whether Gareth Southgate gets the full England job. The England Under 21’s have been pretty strong since a disappointing Euro 2015 campaign winning all but two of their fixtures since it and not losing.

One of the games where they did drop points was away in Bosnia though. The Bosnians are a solid defensive unit but have been struggling for goals themselves with just 2 coming from their 7 qualifiers and as a result they prop up this group and have no chance of going to Poland next summer. You have to go back to March 2015 for their last international win so it’s very hard to see anything other than a home win here. Even an away goal seems a long shot given between them the visiting squad has just one Under 21 international goal, scored by midfielder Armin Ćerimagić.

Bosnia are good enough at the back to make England work for their chances though so we shouldn’t necessarily expect a huge margin of victory. Bosnia’s last four games have produced just a single goal with three 0-0 draws and a 1-0 defeat to Norway. There is unlikely to be a hugely competitive feel to this game with nothing really at stake so it could be a slow affair with England doing their best to prize open the Bosnian defence.

With the hosts likely to make a few changes it could potentially unsettle things a little and backing Under 3.0 Goal Line at 1.950 looks a smart bet particularly given England could only manage a 1-0 win in Kazakhstan last week and failed to score the last time they played Bosnia.
