Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Everton are yet to score this season and Wolves have managed just one goal in two games. The visitors only managed 12 goals in 19 premier League trips last term and they had the worse overall attack in the league, with Everton a close second. As such, goals could be scarce on Saturday and under 2.5 goals appeals.

Draw 0-0

Reason for tip

Everton are yet to score this season and Wolves have managed just one goal – and that effort came when they were already 4-0 down and the game had effectively ended as a contest. Both of these sides conceded four goals last week so the respective managers will no doubt demand better from their defences, so this looks a contender for a Premier League ‘bore draw’ on Saturday.

Everton vs Wolverhampton Predictions

  • Everton are still seeking their first goal of the season.
  • Wolves have scored just one goal.
  • The last meeting between these sides finished 1-1 in May.

One for the purists at Goodison Park

Everton and Wolves are both still seeking their first points of the new season and Saturday’s meeting between these two sides appears to be an early battle between two teams who are set for a season of struggle.

Wolves put in a decent performance in Gary O’Nei’s first game in charge as they went down 1-0 at Manchester United, and were unfortunate not to claim a point. However, they were well beaten in a 4-1 home defeat to Brighton last time out and will be hoping for a better performance this weekend.

Everton were unlucky to lose 1-0 to Fulham in their season opener and they created enough chances to win that game at Goodison Park. Sean Dyche’s men then slipped to a 4-0 defeat at Aston Villa in a game where they managed just two attempts on target themselves.

Standout game for unders backers

Both of these teams are lacking something in attack and as such this looks a good fixture for fans of the under 2.5 goals market.

Everton haven’t managed to score yet this term and Wolves have struck just once, and that goal came when they were 4-0 down and Brighton had perhaps let their guard down.

Wolves have now failed to score in each of their last four Premier League away games and last season they managed just 12 goals on their travels in 19 games. Everton only scored 34 goals in total last season, meaning they had the second worst attack in the league – behind only Wolves.

Spoils could be shared

These teams played out a 1-1 draw in the penultimate round of fixtures last season and another stalemate could be on the cards here, as both may feel any kind of result is important after respective back-to-back defeats.

Dyche and counterpart O’Neil will demand better defensive displays after both sides conceded four goals last time out, and as these teams have scored just one goal between them this tie looks a strong contender for a ‘bore draw’ so a 0-0 result is the correct score prediction.
