Exeter vs Notts County Predictions

At the start of the season the clash between Exeter City and Notts County was predicted to be a key clash in deciding the home of the League Two title come the end of the campaign. However, just a few games in and both sides are a little off the pace, but they have the opportunity to add another three points to their tally when they meet at St James Park this weekend.

The hosts started the season in excellent shape when they won three and drew one of their opening four league matches. However, that form has dipped of late and they lost their next three outings. A win on penalties following a goalless draw with Yeovil Town in the Checkatrade Trophy has allowed them to rebuild their confidence and the Grecians should be fully confident in their ability to claim another three points this weekend.

Speaking of sides for who things have not exactly gone to plan for, the fact that Notts County are already on to their second manager of the season shows just what sort of campaign they have started with. Despite hopes of winning the title at the start of the season, County have only managed to earn one point in their six outings so far and they have also seen their run in the League Cup come to a premature end.

Although the visitors have taken the bold step of changing their manager, it will take a while for Harry Kewell’s methods to take effect. This, combined with the fact that Exeter look a strong side who have the credentials to go all the way this year, means that we believe backing a home win is the way to go in this fixture.

However, if you are looking for something which offers a larger return, we think we will have you covered. Although they are scoreless in their last two home matches, when Exeter have done well they often score plenty. When you combine this with Notts County’s away matches averaging 4.67 goals per game so far, we think that backing there to be over 3.5 goals scored represents an excellent chance at a decent return.
