FC Den Bosch vs FC Utrecht Reserves Predictions

After four defeats from their last six and just two wins from their last 13 league outings, it’s fair to say that the regular season is fizzling out with a bit of a whimper for Den Bosch. Having led the way at the turn of the year following a 16 match unbeaten streak, Wil Boessen’s side are now down to 5th and they desperately need to rediscover some form ahead of the Play-offs. Can The Blue White Dragons get a confidence booster under their belt here when they entertain bottom side Jong Utrecht on match day 35?

After three straight defeats in March, Den Bosch began April well with a 3-1 success over Jong PSV and a 1-1 draw against Sparta Rotterdam at Stadion De Vliert, however they were unable to build on those results last week as 6th placed Almere City ran out comfortable 3-1 winners at Yanmar Stadion.

The result brought City level on points with Den Bosch, and The Blue White Dragons are certainly looking over their shoulder a little with four matches remaining. A Play-off place is already guaranteed for Wil Boessen’s side by virtue of winning the Period 2 table, but they will be keen to at least hold their current position in the standings so that they don’t have to participate in the Preliminary Round.

That should ensure that Den Bosch are fully focused for this Friday’s clash against Jong Utrecht and a return to s-Hertogenbosch is likely to spark some improvement. The hosts had a shaky start to the campaign with one draw and two losses from their first three outings at Stadion De Vliert, but they have since won nine, drawn three and lost just two from 14 which is an extremely decent record.

And this week’s contest should be just about their easiest assignment of the season at home considering that bottom side Jong have yet to register a win on their travels this term.

Robin Pronk’s men have picked up just three draws from 17 games on the road and they are now without a victory in 17 matches overall after receiving a 4-1 hiding at Cambuur on match day 34.

Nonetheless, that result enhanced Jong’s reliability in front of goal, and they have now managed to score at least once in 11 of their last 13 fixtures, including their last six away.

With Den Bosch keeping a clean sheet in just one of their last half dozen games at home, this Friday’s contest looks perfect for backing Den Bosch to win and both teams to score alongside a 3-1 correct score.
