FC Den Bosch vs Twente Predictions

Den Bosch vs Twente at Stadion De Vliert is the standout fixture on match day 13 in Eerste Divisie, as both clubs put impressive winning sequences on the line. The 4th placed hosts are unbelievably seeking their seventh victory on the spin, but 3rd placed Twente will be confident of stopping them as they look to make it five from five.

Den Bosch were rated 200/1 rags in the outright Eerste Divisie betting before a ball was kicked this season, which makes their recent run of form all the more astounding.

It’s still asking a lot for The Blue White Dragons to defy those odds and gain automatic promotion this term, but after years of being also-rans, Wil Boessen’s men will really fancy their chances of bagging a top five spot to reach the Play-offs for the first time since the 2013/14 campaign.

They left it late on match day 12, but a goal from Bulgarian defender Stefan Velkov ten minutes from time proved decisive as Den Bosch beat Jong PSV 0-1 in Eindhoven. That made it six straight wins for Den Bosch who now hold a four point cushion over 6th placed Oss, whilst they only trail new leaders Sparta Rotterdam by two points heading into this Friday’s full round of fixtures.

But the visit of Twente easily poses Den Bosch with their toughest test since their hot streak began at the end of September, and it’s perhaps worth noting that the three teams they’ve beaten at home in that run (3-1 vs Jong AZ, 3-1 vs FC Eindhoven, 1-0 vs Dordrecht) are currently placed 16th, 17th and 19th in the table, which makes the strength of the form questionable.

Add into the mix the fact that Den Bosch were beaten twice at Stadion De Vliert in the opening weeks of the season (2-3 vs RKC, 1-4 VS Almere City) and we can begin to see that the hosts are potentially vulnerable in this week’s encounter.

Twente certainly make appeal here and they head to s-Hertogenbosch unbeaten on the road this term after three wins and two draws from five outings.

Marino Pusic’s men put six past a woeful Jong Utrecht side on their last away assignment and have gained real momentum across the past fortnight with a 1-0 home win over Almere City on match day 11 and a cosy 3-1 success against RKC at De Grolsch Veste last week.

The Enschede outfit are 3rd in the table but level on points with 2nd placed Go Ahead Eagles, and look the club most likely to emerge as main rivals to leaders Sparta for automatic promotion.

This will be Twente’s first trip to s-Hertogenbosch in league action since 2005 when they were beaten 1-0 at Stadion De Vliert, but we envisage a different result this time around as Pusic’s side are getting stronger by the week.

We think they have the quality to burst Den Bosch’s bubble which may be falsely inflated considering five of their six consecutive wins have been against teams in the bottom half, and Twente are a good price based on their overall form and confidence on the road.

This is the one to watch in Eerste Divisie on match day 13, and although it should be tight, it’s a Twente win for us and a 1-2 score line.
