FC Eindhoven vs FC Den Bosch Predictions

Eerste Divisie leaders Den Bosch are in blistering form right now, and they go into this Friday’s clash with FC Eindhoven in search of their fourth consecutive league win following consummate beatings of Dordrecht and Oss since returning from the festive break. The Blue White Dragons are favourites to land another success at Jan Louwers Stadion on match day 22, but they may not have everything their own way with the hosts also in the midst of a really decent spell.

Oss held onto Den Bosch for 45 minutes at Stadion De Vliert last week, but the league leaders soon asserted themselves in the second half as Stefano Beltrame notched a brace, before Sven Blummel added a third to seal what turned out to be an easy 3-0 success for Wil Boessen’s side.

The performance was a further step up from The Blue White Dragons following an emphatic 2-6 victory at Dordrecht on match day 20, and the leading bunch in Eerste Divisie is now starting to splinter with the majority of Den Bosch’s rivals dropping points so far in the New Year.

2nd placed Twente are the only other team towards the top who have returned from the Christmas break with two wins from two, so Den Bosch hold a two point advantage over the Enschede outfit going into this week’s round of fixtures, with Go Ahead Eagles and Sparta Rotterdam four and six points back respectively in 3rd and 4th.

With their next five matches against opposition currently placed 10th or lower in the table, Den Bosch have the chance to put some real daylight between themselves and the rest in the coming weeks, but this Friday’s contest at Jan Louwers Stadion won’t be straightforward with hosts FC Eindhoven also seeking their fourth victory on the spin.

David Nascimento’s men are 11th in the standings at present, but they look nailed on to achieve a Play-off place based on their recent displays.

Blauw-witten were superb again last week as they secured a 1-3 triumph at Volendam thanks to goals from Kabangu Marcelo Lopes and Bourard, and that result brought them to within four points off the top nine after victories against Jong AZ (1-2) and NEC (3-2) either side of the Christmas intermission.

With six wins from their last eight, Eindhoven are really only behind the top two in terms of current form, so there are plenty of other fixtures that Den Bosch would rather be facing this Friday.

Nonetheless, The Blue White Dragons comfortably won the reverse fixture 3-1 in s-Hertogenbosch and have beaten David Nascimento’s side in the last three meetings between the teams.

And whilst FC Eindhoven’s recent improvement and consistency is likely to drive them onto clinching a Play-off place, five of those recent six wins have come against teams positioned in the bottom half of the table.

Den Bosch will pose a much sterner test for them here and the leaders have rarely faltered on the road this term with an excellent seven wins and two draws from ten away outings.

This won’t be a walkover for the visitors, but we expect them to have too much quality and they look a steal once again at a touch of odds-against. That warrants a two point stake with a small punt on a 1-2 correct score also recommended.
