FC Eindhoven vs Telstar Predictions

FC Eindhoven vs Telstar predictions for Friday night’s Eerste Divisie fixture at Jan Louwers Stadion. Can Telstar follow up their excellent win over Go Ahead Eagles when they visit Eindhoven on match day 13? Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

The result of the round on match day 12 unquestionably went to Telstar as Mike Snoei’s men put their best foot forward to topple Go Ahead Eagles 2-1 at IJmond Stadion. The IJmuiden club will be out to secure consecutive league victories for just the second time this season on Friday when they visit Jan Louwers Stadion, to take on an FC Eindhoven side that have got the better of them in recent times.

Goals from Melle Springers and Chelsea loanee Kyle Scott proved enough to sink high flyers Go Ahead Eagles last week, landing Telstar their fifth win of what has been an indifferent campaign for the club thus far.

Few expected Mike Snoei’s side to cause the promotion chasers any serious problems having lost seven of their first 11 games this term, but the IJmuiden outfit turned in a display more akin to their performances last season which earned them a respectable 6th placed finish.

Telstar still have plenty to do to reach those heights again and sit 13th in the table heading into this Friday’s fixture, but they could potentially move into the top half with a win in Eindhoven depending on how other results go on match day 13.

That’s not something punters will be relying on based on Telstar’s inconsistency this season as they seek to record back to back victories for just the second time in 2018/19, and they have to overcome an FC Eindhoven team that have largely got the better of them over the past few years.

Blauw-witten have won four of the last six meetings between the teams, although Telstar did put a halt to FC Eindhoven’s dominance with a 4-1 success in IJmuiden when sides most last faced off in January.

Eindhoven are unbeaten in five against Telstar at home however, and the bookies rate David Nascimento’s charges as favourites for Friday’s encounter despite a number of poor showings at Jan Louwers Stadion this term.

Indeed, Eindhoven are yet to win on home soil this season from their five outings, with their three defeats suffered at Jan Louwers Stadion coming amidst a desperate run of five games without a point at the beginning of the campaign.

Eindhoven managed to pick themselves up in the weeks that followed with impressive victories earned away at defending champions Jong Ajax (0-3) and NEC (0-1), but Nascimento’s side have slumped again over the past fortnight with successive losses on the road at Den Bosch (3-1) and Oss (2-0).

Eindhoven can’t be treated too harshly on those results considering Den Bosch and Oss currently sit 4th and 6th in the table respectively, but confidence will have taken another dip after Blauw-witten’s mini recovery.

So there’s little appeal here in backing the hosts at odds-on here based on the fact they’re 17th and winless at home, but we’re not inspired by Telstar either based on their poor record in the head to head and apparent inability to string two positive results together.

Instead, over 2.5 goals with both teams to score is the standout wager for us – it’s been a feature of the last six meetings between the pair and another entertaining contest looks on the cards this Friday. We can’t split the teams in terms of the result, so a repeat of the 2-2 score line in last season’s corresponding fixture also has possibilities at decent odds.
