FC Oss vs FC Volendam Predictions

Oss slipped two places to 8th following their 2-1 defeat at FC Eindhoven on Monday, and they head into this Friday’s round of fixtures clinging onto a Play-off place by just a single point. Klaas Wels’ side have been extremely poor on the road since the turn of the year, so they will be glad to return home on match day 33 where they entertain a struggling Volendam side who have won just one of their last ten league outings.

Oss had one of the best away records in Eerste Divisie earlier this season after posting six wins, two draws and just two defeats from their first ten matches on the road, but Klaas Wels’ side have really gone to pieces on their travels in 2019.

Monday reverse at FC Eindhoven was their fourth away loss in six, and that run has really stopped Oss from being able to stay in a comfortable top nine position.

Defeat this Friday would probably see Oss drop out of the Play-off places; however they should be a lot stronger as they return to Frans Heesen Stadion.

TOP have won three of their last four at home including a 1-0 success over Jong AZ last time out, and the bookies have them priced up as marginal favourites to bank an important three points.

Oss should potentially be much shorter in the market though based on the above and the woeful recent spell being endured by the visitors.

Volendam were toppled 3-4 at home to Dordrecht on Monday where there was some pretty awful defending on show, and Hans De Koning’s men have now lost four of their last five Eerste Divisie matches.

Palingboeren have just one victory to their name since 1st February which was toil in itself against second bottom Helmond Sport (1-0) and they have now fallen to a fairly distant 16th in the standings.

They are nine points adrift of the Play-off places which looks completely insurmountable and it seems as though Volendam’s season may now peter out with a whimper after they briefly threatened to challenge for the Play-offs back in January.

Whilst Oss are inconsistent on the whole, they do perform with much more energy and confidence at home, so we can expect them to leave Monday’s defeat in Eindhoven well behind them when they line-up here this Friday. This won’t be a classic, but we’re going for a cosy home win and a 2-0 correct score.
