FC Oss vs Go Ahead Eagles Predictions

Four points from two away matches against Sparta Rotterdam and Roda JC over the last seven days have left Oss in great shape as far as the Play-offs are concerned, and they will be keen to further cement their position in the top nine this Monday afternoon when Go Ahead Eagles make the trip to Frans Heesen Stadion. The bookies rate the hosts as the outsiders for this one, but TOP will have other ideas after landing a 0-1 success against Eagles in Deventer earlier this term.

Oss appeared to have snatched all three points on Friday after Phillippe Rommens gave them the lead with just five minutes to go at Parkstad Limburg Stadion, however a late own goal from Norichio Nieveld meant that the spoils were shared.

But the draw still rates as a decent result for Oss against a Roda JC side who have made an unbeaten start under new boss Eric van der Luer, and it backed up a superb 1-4 triumph away to 2nd placed Sparta Rotterdam on match day 34.

It leaves Oss looking fairly comfortable in 8th with just three games remaining, as they have fixtures against 17th placed Dordrecht and second bottom Helmond Sport to come which they really should win. Six points from a possible nine should be more than enough to seal their participation in the Play-offs, so in a way this Monday’s match at home to 3rd placed Go Ahead could be seen as something of a free hit.

Oss certainly make plenty of appeal here though at around 5/2 – they have accrued ten points from their last five games at Frans Heesen Stadion with their only recent defeat coming against champions elect Twente (0-2) at the beginning of March.

Eagles meanwhile head into this clash on the back of a win following a 2-1 victory against 5th placed Jong PSV on Friday, however they have lost three of their last six in the league including a 5-2 hammering when on the road against Jong Ajax a week ago.

With their Play-off place already assured and consistency clearly an issue at present, the visitors definitely look opposable here at around even money – especially as Oss got the better of them in November’s reverse contest.

Playing without pressure is key in any league during the run-in, and although a positive result would be fantastic here for the hosts, a loss is unlikely to derail their Play-off bid and that should ensure that they play with freedom and put their best foot forward.

So we’re tipping up Oss to land the spoils in this one, despite their mixed record overall at Frans Heesen Stadion this season. It should be fairly close with goals on both sides, so 2-1 is our pick in the correct score market.
