FC Volendam vs PSV Reserves Predictions

Jong PSV’s form has taken a bit of a dip in recent weeks with just one victory gained in their last five league outings, and they head to Kras Stadion this Friday on the back of consecutive defeats against Den Bosch (3-1) and NEC (1-2). Dennis Haar’s charges are still holding onto 5th place in the table, but they need to regain the winning thread quickly to prevent their strong campaign from petering out. Fortunately for them, they take on a Volendam side here who are winless in eight and the bookies are certainly offering plenty of value about an away win.

Recent performances have indicated that Jong PSV may be going through the motions a little with just a handful of games left to play this season, but odds of around 2/1 for them to triumph here on match day 34 look extremely generous.

Dennis Haar’s side are without a win in three on the road following a 0-0 draw with Jong AZ and 3-1 defeats to Cambuur and Den Bosch which is an obvious concern, but prior to that they won three in succession on their travels whilst they have beaten Volendam in three of the last four meetings between the teams.

Providing they head to Kras Stadion in the right frame of mind this week, Jong should again get the better of Volendam, whose season is definitely dead in the water.

Palingboeren are without a win in eight following last Friday’s drab 0-0 draw at Oss and they have lost their last three at home, including a dismal 3-4 reversal against Dordrecht a fortnight ago. Their only win in their last 11 matches came against second bottom Helmond Sport on match day 25 (1-0) and as a result Hans De Koning’s men have slumped to 16th in the Eerste Divisie standings.

Volendam are a huge 10 points adrift of the Play-offs, having been in contention just a few weeks ago and fans can now only hope that their team finishes the season on a positive note to set themselves up for 2019/20 – before which another managerial change is highly likely.

So whilst Jong PSV look far from solid at the moment with a question mark surrounding their own motivation, we feel a chance has to be taken on Dennis Haar’s men to get the three points in this one at a decent price, with 1-2 being our correct score prediction.
