Feirense vs Moreirense Predictions

Feirense’s season hit a new low last weekend when they were thrashed 4-0 by a Nacional side that had lost their previous game 10-0 against Benfica. Saturday’s hosts are now five points behind second from bottom Chaves and eight points off safety, so their survival chances are looking slim. Moreirense collected a third win in their last four games when they won 2-0 at home against Tondela, leaving Saturday’s guests in fifth position in the Primeira Liga.

The confidence of the Nacional players was bound to be low following their 10-0 thrashing at the hands on Benfica, but you would have thought that Feirense were the side on the end of the heavy defeat as Rashidov scored a hat trick and Nacional strolled to a 4-0 victory. A goal in the first half from Texeira and another in the second from Aouacheria saw Moreirense beat Tondela and claim a third win from their last four games, keeping their European dream alive.

The recent history between these two clubs and their form heading into Saturday’s clash all points towards another Moreirense win. We’re not expecting too many goals from this game either as four of the last five encounters between the two clubs have produced under 2.5 goals. Moreirense have won four of the last seven meetings between the pair and only lost on one occasion. The hosts are in dire form, with five defeats in their last six and look destined for relegation as they occupy last place in the Primeira Liga table. Moreirense are unbeaten in their last four matches, winning three and drawing one, so confidence is bound to be high in the visitors camp, especially as their hosts were beaten 4-0 by Nacional last time out. The visitors haven’t been scoring or conceding a great deal of goals of late, with four of their last six matches producing under 2.5 goals and that’s why were expecting a narrow win for the visitors on Saturday.

Feirense have scored the joint lowest amount of goals in the Primeira Liga this season (13), and their top scorer Edinho has netted four league goals so far. Heriberto Tavares only has five goals in the Primeira Liga for Moreirense, despite how well the team has performed overall, but that’s down to the team spreading out their goal scoring responsibilities and having a strong defensive record with twenty-five goals scored and twenty-five goals conceded in their twenty-two league games. We’re confident that Moreirense will win on Saturday, and have backed a final scoreline of 1-0. The visitors are in form and have a very good recent record against Feirense, but haven’t scored a lot of goals this season, instead they have built the majority of their victories on the back of a strong defence.
