Flamengo host Palmeiras in the opening round of fixtures in the Brazilian Serie A this weekend.

Flamengo won the league last season and their off season competitions have gone well with the side now unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions. They will be looking to get this season off to a winning start as they try and defend their crown.

Palmeiras had a bit of a disappointing campaign last year finishing in 7th place in Serie A. Their off season went very well until recently though with seven straight wins for the side before they went three games without a win where they currently find themselves.
