Forest Green Rovers vs Notts County Predictions

There may still be plenty of time remaining in the League Two table but the battle to stay in the division and avoid the drop to the National League is really starting to hot up. For fans of Notts County, they know that the amount of matches they have left to reverse their fortunes is starting to dwindle, but this weekend they have the opportunity to kick start their survival bid when they travel to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

Forest Green Rovers had their trip to Swindon postponed last weekend and drew 1-1 at home to Mansfield in their last match. The hosts were widely expected to sit around mid table this season but they have been performing well above expectations and currently find themselves in an excellent fifth position. Although there away form has been key to this position, they have been pretty solid on home soil and will be looking for three points this weekend to further their bid for promotion.

Notts County have only won four matches this season with the last of those coming back in December and they sit bottom of League Two. However, the Magpies strengthened during the January transfer window and they were unlucky not to claim anything more than a point against league leaders Lincoln City. If County are to emerge victorious then they will have to reverse plenty of trends in order to do so. The visitors have the worst away record in the division and that is accompanied by the worst defensive record in League Two.

The bookies have priced this one firmly in the favour of the hosts and, after considering the form of the sides, it is easy to see why. However, the improvements shown in Notts County’s last match combined with the fact that both teams have scored in all the four previous meetings between these two sides suggests to us that backing both teams to find the back of the net in this fixture is the way to go.
