Fortuna Sittard vs Twente Predictions

Fortuna Sittard held Heerenveen to a 1-1 draw before the international break but the search still goes on for their first league win of the season. Twente secured all three points at home to Utrecht last time out where the scoreline finished 3-1 and their unbeaten start to life back in the top flight remains intact.

All of the stats suggest we could have a stalemate on our hands this Sunday but that doesn’t mean the game will be boring as we’re also expecting both teams to get on the scoreboard.

Three of the pairs’ last six meetings have ended in draws and with two of Fortuna Sittard’s last three matches and three of Twente’s last five games also in stalemates, you can’t start to appreciate just why we’re backing a 1-1 draw between the pair this weekend.

We’re certainly not expecting a bore drew between these two sides on Sunday, as both teams scored in four of the pairs’ last six encounters and both teams have scored in five of Fortuna Sittard’s and four of Twente’s last six matches, and just one of those eight combined draws ended goalless.

The form of both teams also suggests we could have a draw on our hands this weekend, as Twente are yet to lose in the Eredivisie this season and Fortuna Sittard haven’t won in the Eredivisie in their opening four matches. The last two draws between Fortuna Sittard and Twente ended 1-1 and Fortuna Sittard’s last two draws in the Eredivisie also finished 1-1, which just adds even more weight to our prediction of a 1-1 draw this weekend.

We’re confident that Sunday’s clash will end all square and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1. Fortuna Sittard look set for another tough season in the Eredivisie as they are yet to discover a winning formula but they have managed to draw two of their last three matches and have the home advantage this weekend. Twente haven’t lost in the league this season but have drawn three of their opening five matches and are guilty of not finishing off teams which is why we’re backing a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
