Lazio look to end the week on a high after Sarri’s exit 

The Maurizio Sarri era came to an end at Lazio amid much confusion on Tuesday, but his former team could still end the week on a high by beating Frosinone.

Sarri tended his resignation in the wake of Monday night’s 2-1 home defeat to Udinese, the club’s fourth straight loss. But it is less than a month since I Biancocelesti beat Bayern Munich and only two months on from their Coppa Italia quarter-final win over Roma.

It really should not take much for Giovanni Martusciello, Sarri’s former assistant who has been placed in charge, to get a tune out of this team and the return of Matteo Guendouzi from suspension will certainly help this weekend.

Frosinone form is shocking

Frosinone are in shocking form themselves after losing 10 of their last 13 games in all competitions. They are still somehow only a point behind Empoli in the race to beat the drop.

Eusebio Di Francesco’s side have lost four of their last six home Serie A games and, if Lazio’s recent away form holds, will fall to another defeat at Stadio Benito Stirpe.

Frosinone have scored in 12 of their 14 home league games this term and should be able to manage a goal against Lazio, but the Roman outfit have scored multiple times in four of their last six away Serie A trips and should come away with a 2-1 win.
