Frosinone vs Palermo Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Palermo gained the upper hand in the race for Serie A earlier this week, as they won 2-1 at home to Frosinone in the first leg of the Serie B play-off final. They may have fallen behind in the opening minutes of that clash, but Palermo raced back in to the game to take a 2-1 lead, and that gives them the advantage heading in to Saturday’s second leg. Will Frosinone turn this tie around with a result in front of their own fans, or will the Rosanero be making an immediate return to Serie A?

The advantage has to be with Palermo right now, having seen Frosinone fail to win their last four matches. They finished the season with a 2-2 draw at home to Foggia as they missed out on promotion, despite finishing level on points with second placed Parma. Two 1-1 draws with Cittadella took them through to the final, which they lost the opening leg of. That’s left the third placed side in awful form ahead of their biggest clash of the campaign, so can they turn that around?

Frosinone did score 62% of their regular season goals at their own ground, so they should be confident of hurting this Palermo side. However, they also conceded the majority of their goals at home. While the expectation here is for a low scoring, cagey encounter, we don’t think this game will be quite that close. We see the hosts pushing to get back in the game, which will leave openings for Palermo to break forward. As a result, we see goals in this second leg.
