Fulham vs Derby Predictions

  • Fulham have won seven of their nine home league games this season
  • The Cottagers have already racked up 48 goals in 18 matches – comfortably the best in the Championship
  • Derby have not kept a clean sheet in their last six matches

Fabulous Fulham Flying High

Fulham’s form under Marco Silva has been staggering. They hammered Barnsley 4-1 on Saturday to pick up their seventh successive league win and move one point clear at the top of the Championship, jumping above Bournemouth, who ironically lost against Derby.

In winning those eight matches, the Cottagers have scored 25 goals, including 15 in just four home fixtures, while they have netted at least twice in 13 of their 20 games in all competitions.

One of the major factors behind their goal-scoring prowess is the remarkable form of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has already struck 21 times this season (plus a further three for Serbia), and he is backed up by the likes of Harry Wilson and Fabio Carvalho.

Quite simply, Fulham are almost unstoppable, and they will fancy their chances of picking up another three points against the Rams.

Derby’s Defence Struggling

Derby have managed to keep five clean sheets in the Championship this season, but three of those came during a purple patch at the end of September and start of October.

They actually have one of the best defences in the division, conceding just 18 times, but a lot of their good work has been done against teams in the Championship’s bottom half. In fact, in the eight matches they have played against teams in the top ten, only West Brom have failed to score.

At the other end, though, County have been solid, scoring at least once in their last six games, so they may pose some questions to the Cottagers’ defence..

It is true that the Rams’ league position is skewed by their heavy points deductions, but even if those punishments were wiped out, they would remain a long way behind Fulham in the table.

Quite simply, this is the biggest test yet for Wayne Rooney’s side and it is one I expect them to struggle in, so I am predicting a 3-1 Fulham win.
