Fulham to Win

Reason for tip

Fulham have already beaten Leeds twice this season, in the league and FA Cup, and can make the most of home advantage when the pair clash on Saturday. Leeds have lost three of their last four games – conceding 16 goals in the process – and the Cottagers head into the game after a 3-1 win over Everton.

Fulham 3-1

Reason for tip

Leeds have been conceding at an alarming rate of late and Fulham can record a comfortable win. However, the Cottagers have gone six games without a clean sheet themselves so a 3-1 win for the hosts appeals.

Maria Joao Palhinha To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Palinha’s last goal came against Leeds as he scored a stunning strike in the FA Cup. The Cottagers are missing a few key forwards so need others to step up, and Palinha looks a good candidate at a big price.

Fulham vs Leeds Predictions

  • Fulham ended a losing run by beating Everton last time out.
  • Leeds have lost three of their last four.
  • Palinha scored in the last meeting between these sides

Fulham test next for struggling Leeds

Fulham and Leeds meet in the early Premier League kick off on Saturday and the visitors are in desperate need of the points as they battle the drop.

The Cottagers are destined for a mid-table finish and have little left to play for, having broken through the 40-point barrier by beating Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park last time out.

Defensive issues a worry for Leeds

Leeds have three defeats in their last four games and the manner of those losses will be a huge cause for concern for manager Javi Gracia.

The Elland Road club were hit for six in a thrashing by Liverpool at home last week and prior to that they conceded five against a visiting Crystal Palace side. Leeds have now gone eight games without a clean sheet and have conceded at least twice in five of their last six, and they will need to find a way to tighten things up at the back if they are to retain their top flight status.

Fulham have gone six games without a clean sheet themselves so both teams to score could be one way to go with this fixture, but at a bigger price a home win appeals.

The Cottagers have already beaten Leeds twice this season, winning 3-2 at Elland Road in the league before a 2-0 FA Cup success at this venue in February. The hosts can play without pressure with their safety essentially assured, and with Leeds looking low on confidence and easy to score against they may struggle to get a result on Saturday.

Palinha offers scorer value

As mentioned earlier, both teams to score could be one option for the main bet given both side’s issues at the back and a 3-1 home win looks a reasonable correct score prediction, as Leeds have shipped 11 in total across their last two games.

As an outside scorer option, Fulham’s Palinha stands out as the Cottagers are without a couple of key forwards. Aleksandar Mitrovic is still suspended, and Daniel James is ineligible to face his parent club. Palinha’s last goal came against Leeds as he scored a thunderbolt in that 2-0 FA Cup win and he may fancy his chances of adding to his account again on Saturday.
