Newcastle to Win

Reason for tip

Fulham have won only two of their last nine games in 90 minutes and could be a touch fatigued from their midweek EFL Cup exploits, so they could be worth opposing against Newcastle in the FA Cup fourth round.

Newcastle 2-1

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in three of Newcastle’s last four games and punters should expect both teams to find the net in this one, with a 2-1 win for the Magpies the way to go.

Fulham vs Newcastle Predictions

  • Fulham have won only two of their last nine matches in 90 minutes
  • Newcastle have scored seven goals in their first three matches of 2024
  • Both teams have scored in three of Newcastle’s last four matches

Magpies can build on Sunderland triumph

It has been a testing Premier League campaign for Newcastle but they have the opportunity to give their fans something to shout about in this season’s FA Cup and can win their fourth-round battle with Fulham.

The Magpies have had a tough start to the year, playing both Manchester City and Liverpool in the league, but in-between those two contests, they took on rivals Sunderland in the third round of the FA Cup.

And while their opponents play in the second tier of English football, Newcastle still did well to win in a hostile atmosphere, prevailing 3-0 against the Black Cats.

That should have done their confidence the world of good and Eddie Howe can be expected to field a strong side in this fourth-round match with their hopes of making the top six in the Premier League fading fast.

Fulham could have hangover from EFL Cup semi-final

A deep run in the FA Cup would also be beneficial for Fulham but they head into this game having been edged by Liverpool in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

The Cottagers came agonisingly close to making a rare final, having drawn 1-1 in the second leg after a 2-1 defeat at Anfield.

And while there could be a few tired legs in the camp after that game, it also likely knocked their confidence and they should be opposed at Craven Cottage.

Both teams have scored in three of Newcastle’s last four games, though, and punters should look at backing a 2-1 win for the visitors in the correct-score market.
