Fulham vs Wolves Predictions

These two sides were both involved in midweek games with dramatic endings. Wolves will come into this on a real high having netted two late goals to grab a richly deserved 2-1 win at Brentford. Fulham meanwhile would have been gutted to concede in stoppage time and miss the chance to move into the top six by only drawing 2-2 with Blackburn. This feels like another game that could produce several goals.

Fulham matches tend to do just that, particularly at Craven Cottage. 68% of their home games this season have seen over 2.5 goals scored and both teams have also scored in 68% of those games. The Londoners are widely recognised as one of the best footballing teams in the Championship and they can be really entertaining to watch. Only Newcastle can better their average of 1.76 goals per game and they’ve netted at least once in all of their last 14 home games in the Championship.

There should be no doubt about them scoring at least once in this match. They have plenty of players that contribute goals all over the team but the standout performer of late has been Tom Cairney. The Scot has netted in 4 of his last 8 league outings and backing Cairney to score anytime at 21/10 could be worth a flutter here.

What Fulham aren’t so good at is keeping the ball out of their own net. Both teams have scored in all of their last 5 home games and in 7 of their last 8 overall. The likes of Wigan, Blackburn and Forest have all scored twice at Craven Cottage since the start of February so Wolves have genuine reason to believe they can cause problems.

Back-to-back wins will also give them belief and they do have a good record in away games, where they’ve been real underdogs this term. They’ve won at Premier League Stoke and Liverpool in the FA Cup and at leaders Newcastle in the league. They average 1.21 goals per game away which is more than they’ve managed at home and they do seem like a side that is more comfortable away from home.

For those reasons they should be able to really make a game of this and another high-scoring contest at the Cottage looks possible, so backing Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score at 21/20 looks pretty good, especially when you consider what happened the last time these sides met.
