Genoa vs Lazio Predictions

Lazio likely to face tough test

Lazio are just about still in with a shout of nicking a European spot in Serie A, sitting seventh and just six points off their rivals Roma in fifth. A win this Friday would heap the pressure on their old enemy and see them leapfrog Atalanta into sixth, but that reality is far from guaranteed. 

Igor Tudor’s side have lost four of their last five away games and travel to Genoa who are on a four-match unbeaten run, suggesting a win may be beyond the visitors. 

Although, Lazio have had to face Juventus, Bayern Munich and Roma in that run, so it is maybe understandable that they have struggled on their travels of late, and they could find some joy at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Go for goals in Genoa

A win could prove to be beyond Lazio, but they should still have enough to score. They flexed their attacking muscles with a 4-1 thrashing of basement boys Salernitana last time out and should net in Genoa. 

However, while they may score, they are likely to concede too. Genoa have netted against the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus in recent weeks and given they have lost only two of their last 12 home games, it seems likely the hosts will play their part this Friday. 

Seven of Genoa’s last nine home games have seen both sides score and, considering the mixed form of both sides and the fact the same bet has landed in five of the last seven meetings between the pair, it seems probable that there will be goals at both ends in this clash.
