Grimsby Town vs Bury Predictions

As the end of the season draws ever nearer, time is quickly running out for sides to earn the required points for them to achieve the required points in order to accomplish the goals they set themselves at the start of the campaign. This weekend sees a Grimsby side with little left to play for welcome a Bury side who are in desperate need for the three points in order to boost their bid for the League Two title.

Grimsby Town are currently in no mans land in the middle of the division as they probably already have enough points on the board in order to secure their survival in League Two, but they are also far enough away from the top seven in order to ensure they will not make a charge for the play-offs. The Mariners go into this weekend’s fixtures without a win in their previous five outings and with goals drying up, as they have managed to score just three times in their previous five matches.

Making the trip to Blundell Park is a Bury side who will be hoping to take advantage of their hosts lethargy as they bid to claim the League Two title. The visitors go into this match six points off Lincoln City, who currently occupy top spot, and although they have a game in hand on the league leaders, they know that they can ill afford any slip ups between now and the end of the season if they are to win the title. Bury are in solid form and following a 1-0 win away at Stevenage last time out, they come into this fixture undefeated in their previous 13 outings.

The hosts lack of motivation is perhaps a major factor in their poor form of late, and it seems unlikely that they will be able to turn that around with three points this weekend. Their visitors are in excellent form, are good on the road and have it all to play for, so should have enough in the locker to earn the win. With this in mind, we think that backing a Bury win represents the best opportunity of a decent return in this fixture.
