Hacken vs Hammarby Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Hacken enjoyed a fairly successful season last term as they finished 7th in the Sweden Allsvenskan and then qualified for the Europa League through their Swedish Cup success earlier in 2016.

This season looks like it is going much the same way in terms of league performance. They currently lie in 8th position in the Allsvenskan with 16 points from their first 12 games, putting them seven points adrift of the top three and three clear of the relegation playoff position in 14th.

However, Hacken are on the rise in terms of form. They began the season with four defeats and one win from their opening five matches, but since recovering from that they have lost just twice in all competitions and have won five of their eight Allsvenskan games. They also beat Malmo in the Swedish Cup Final at the beginning of May, which will have come as a huge confidence booster. They now come into this game having won three and drawn two of the five matches since their last defeat.

Hammarby’s season isn’t going quite as well as they would hope. They finished in an uncomfortable 11th position last term, ending eight points clear of the relegation playoff position despite losing their final three league matches.

This season they might not be so lucky though. Their 2-1 win over Gefle before the summer break wasn’t enough to clear them of the danger zone, and they come back to competitive football in 14th position in the Allsvenskan, two points adrift of safety but eight points clear of the first of the automatic drop spots occupied by Gefle.

A home victory against Gefle was expected, but prior to that they had been winless in seven league matches and picked up just three points in the process. Away from home Hammarby have lost four and won just one of their six matches as well, whereas Hacken have won four of their seven home matches in the league.

Hacken will be a bit worried about the fact that they have conceded in all of their home games so far though, although they have managed to find the net themselves in all but one of them. Hammarby haven’t failed to score on the road this season either, but they are also yet to keep a clean sheet.

This has resulted in some high scoring matches for both sides. Hacken have seen at least three goals scored in six of their seven home games and had both sides on the scoresheet in all of these too. Hammarby have seen more than two netted in all but one of their away days too, and both teams have found the net in all six of them.

These statistics make good reading for the neutral, and my prediction is for a high scoring match with both attacks flourishing. Odds of 5/6 for Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score look very good value to me considering the form of both sides, and I’m also backing a 3-1 Hacken Win for the correct score prediction at 12/1.
