Hammarby vs Elfsborg Predictions

Hammarby have been quietly impressive this season; they’ve been strong at home and have got themselves into a pleasing league position. If they can get the better of Elfsborg, who’re seven points behind Monday’s hosts, then they’ll right in the top-three mix.

The relative success that Hammarby are enjoying at present is largely down to their performances on home soil. They haven’t been terrible on the road, but they’ve been excellent at home, winning five and drawing two of their seven matches at Tele2 Arena. Hammarby are one of just two teams that are yet to taste defeat at home during the current Allsvenskan campaign.

Having won their most recent home match by six goals to two, Monday’s hosts will come into this match full of confidence, which is more than can be said for the visitors, who’ve certainly not thrived on the road this season.

While Hammarby have been strong on their own patch, Elfsborg have struggled to get going on their travels. Monday’s visitors come into this fixture having won just one out of eight on the road. That said, at the prices, backing the hosts to simply come out on top makes less appeal than ‘Hammarby to Win & Both Teams to Score’.

If they can be at their usual level offensively, then there’s no reason as to why Hammarby cannot overpower a limited visiting side, though the hosts tend to concede at home, so Elfsborg are not without hope going forward. Given that they’ve kept a clean sheet in just two out of seven at Tele2 Arena but have averaged a whopping 2.86 goals for, Hammarby are backed to win without shutting their opponents out.
