Hammarby vs Trelleborg Predictions

This Sunday’s clash in the Allsvenskan has the feel of a home banker, with 2nd placed Hammarby playing host to relegation threatened Trelleborg. The hosts could reclaim top spot with a big win here and three points would add some pressure to AIK’s game on Monday. Any sort of result would be a bonus for the visitors.

These sides actually met just last weekend. Hammarby won 3-1 at Trelleborg with Nikola Durdic again on the scoresheet. That followed up an even bigger win from the previous weekend so all the indications are that Hammarby are now over their mid-season slump. They’d taken just 2 points from 4 matches prior to that to surrender top spot but the confidence will be flowing again now and they will firmly expect to claim all the points here.

Trelleborg currently find themselves in the relegation play-off position. They could slip further back this weekend given the bottom two are playing each other and it’s certainly nervous times now for Patrick Winqvist and his team. They’ve taken just 1 point from their last 5 games and have been dreadful at the back. Having lost at home to this very opposition seven days ago, they will travel more in hope than expectation.

There is every chance that we’ll see the visitors get on the score-sheet though. A huge 86% of their away games this season have seen both teams score and they are pretty good going forward for a struggling team. They’ve netted in 80% of their league outings this season and there are cracks in the Hammarby defence that they may be able to exploit.

75% of Hammarby’s home games this term have seen both teams score. Just a 13% overall clean sheet ratio is very poor for a team in their position in the league and they’ve not only been one of the best teams in the division but one of the most entertaining, with their fixtures normally serving up plenty of goalmouth action. All things considered, backing Both Teams to Score looks the way to go here.

Going for Hammarby & Over 3.5 Goals also looks good. They’ve won 75% of their home fixtures this term and 62% of their home games have produced over 3.5 goals in total. A repeat would be no surprise here with a fairly attack-minded but significantly weaker Trelleborg side in town.

Backing Durdic to score anytime again also appeals. The Serb has 10 goals in his last 11 Allsvenskan games and 3 in his last 2.
