Plucky Heerenveen could give PSV a tough test

Following an unbeaten start to their home league season, Heerenveen will be licking their lips at the chance to face a PSV side that were humbled by Cambuur in the last round while also having to recover from their midweek trip to Zurich ahead of this encounter.

Heerenveen are yet to face a ‘Big Three’ side at home this season though, so their unbeaten record here will surely come under serious threat with the visit of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s PSV. However, the Super Frisians are unbeaten in nine straight home H2Hs, which is a big reason as to why we’re avoiding the away win.

PSV have now conceded five goals across their last two away league games and also conceded twice in two of their last three visits here. Considering the momentum behind the hosts and the lack of that with the visitors, the high quality roster of PSV may end up relying on some individual brilliance if they’re to win this game.

Going against the grain

Never mind PSV’s ridiculously short price, a woeful away H2H record, lack of preparation time, and poor general away form point to this being a tough match for the visitors.

The Eindhoveners could well run out with a huge win here, but the value simply isn’t with them. As such, we’re playing the percentages and going for a Heerenveen win/draw in the double chance market, with a smaller stakes selection going the way of an entertaining 2-2 draw.
