Reason For Heracles vs Ajax Betting Tips
Heracles had a fantastic start to the season, establishing themselves as the Eredivisie’s surprise package, but towards the end of the first half of the campaign signs began to show that they were perhaps punching above their weight. Since returning from the winter break Heracles are yet to score and yet to pick up a single point from their three league games, and on Saturday they play host to Ajax. The visitors arrive having smashed VVV 6-0 in their last game and with the added motivation that they must keep winning if they are to close the five point gap on the league leaders PSV.
On Sunday Heracles made the trip to Den Haag with the hopes of finding their first goals and first points of the new year. However, despite the teams going in level at the break goalless, Den Haag took the lead in the second forty-five minutes through striker Necid. Heracles pushed more men forward in search of an equalising goal, but instead were caught with a sucker punch as Necid bagged his brace and earned Den Haag their first win of 2019. Heracles’ top scorer Peterson started on the bench against Den Haag following a run of just two goals in his last ten appearances for the club, and it will be interesting to see if the Swede is restored to the starting lineup on Saturday.
Ajax hit back with six goals of their own after having six put passed them last time out against Feyenoord, and VVV were the unfortunate side on the end of the Amsterdam clubs backlash. Ziyech scored the only goal of the first half in the thirty-fifth minute, but Dolberg and Tadić netted to make it 3-0 on the hour mark. Neres was next to score with just five minutes of the ninety remaining, and veteran forward Huntelaar got in on the act with three minutes to go. Time added on saw van de Beek net the games sixth and final goal as Ajax restored their pride and confidence following a heavy defeat at the hands of Feyenoord.
The recent form and scorelines of both Heracles and Ajax suggest we will see a decent amount of goals scored in Saturday’s clash. The hosts look completely void of all confidence and even when they create a goal scoring opportunity they don’t seem to be able to convert despite scoring freely in the opening half of the season. Heracles have failed to score in four of their last five matches and are yet to pick up a point or score a goal since returning from the winter break. Goals have not been an issue for Ajax though, with the visitors netting fifteen in their last four matches and last time out they kept their first clean sheet on the new year too. We can’t help but think that this game has a dominating win for Ajax written all over it as the visitors have a fantastic head to head record against Heracles and have won three of their last six encounters.
Peterson remains Heracles top goalscorer this season with ten Eredivisie goals, but his form, just like the club’s, has dipped since towards the end of the first half of the campaign. Ajax are packed with goals, but its Tadić who leads the way on thirteen, followed by Ziyech on twelve, and Huntelaar on ten. With four wins from their last six matches Ajax head into this weekends game as the clear form favourites, as Heracles have lost five of their last six.
We’re confident that Ajax will win to nil on Saturday, and have backed the final scoreline to end 3-0 to the visitors. Goals have not been an issue for Ajax since returning from the winter break, and last time out they secured a confidence boosting clean sheet. Heracles are yet to score this year and aren’t likely to get many chances to either against a rampant Ajax side on Saturday.
