Hobro vs Agf Predictions

Hobro narrowly avoided relegation last season and will be aiming for a mid-table finish at the very least in 2019/20, while AGF finished five points outside the top six and will believe they can challenge for the European places this season. The form of both teams is identical heading into the opening game of the season with each team picking up three wins, two draws, and suffering just one defeat in their last six matches.

Hobro only played two friendlies in pre-season, against Horsens and Fredericia, and both games ended in stalemates but did extend their unbeaten run from the end of last season to five matches. AGF recorded 3-0 wins against Aabyhoj and Horsens before playing out a 1-1 draw with Randers to complete their pre-season schedule, and have now gone four games without a defeat.

The head to head record between these two sides and the performances of both clubs since the tail end of last season, suggests that we won’t see both teams score on Monday and that AGF are best placed to win the game. Only one of the last six meetings between these two clubs has seen both teams score, five of the last six encounters between the pair have ended in a win to nil, and AGF have won five of the two side’s last six matches. Only one of Hobro’s last six matches have seen both teams score and AGF have kept two clean sheets in their last three away games, which is why we’re backing a 1-0 win for the visitors on Monday.

Patrick Mortensen scored nine league goals for AGF last season and should lead the line for the visitors on Monday night, while Hobro will be hoping that new signings Mads Dittmer Hvilsom and Oliver Thychosen can provide the goals their sides sorely missed last season. We’re confident that we won’t see both teams score in Monday’s match and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-0 to AGF. Both teams head into the game in good form which should make for a competitive ninety minutes, but AGF have more goals in them and outperformed Hobro last season so we believe the visitors will claim all three points.
