Hobro vs Brondby Predictions

Hobro come in to Sunday’s clash with Brondby as the only side who have yet to pick up a point in the Superliga this season. They face off with a Brondby side who are pushing towards the top of the table, so the hosts may be set to struggle for a little longer. The visitors come in to this clash with an eye on a potential title challenge, and success in the Europa League qualifiers. They’ll be out to boost their chances in both with another win this weekend, after a strong campaign so far.

Brondby have picked up four points so far, and they kicked off their season with a 2-0 win at Randers. They’ll see this trip as a chance to continue that form, given how poorly Hobro have started the new campaign. Hobro ended up in the bottom eight last season, and they didn’t have a great record – losing as many games as they won in the end.

Brondby are coming off a strong campaign, one which saw them win two-thirds of their matches, and cause problems for champions Midtjylland. They were a really entertaining side across the campaign, racking up 2.28 goals per game last term. They did have a few issues in defence – conceding in 72% of their games – but their high scoring nature helped them to victories along the way.

As a result, Brondby saw over 2.5 goals land in 61% of their matches last term, while both teams scored in 67% of their away trips. They come in to this game having recorded back to back 2-1 wins over Hobro, while the hosts have started the campaign by conceding three in each of their two league games so far. With that in mind, we expect goals in Sunday’s clash, so we think that over 2.5 goals is the best bet for this one. With Hobro conceding three in all but one of their last four, we’re also backing a 3-1 correct score.

One man to keep an eye on here is Brondby forward Kamil Wilczek. The Polish forward has started the campaign in form, scoring in both games so far. That follows on from a strong scoring record last term, as he hit 15 goals in 21 starts. The forward has scored 14 goals in his last 12 matches for the club, and we expect him to carry that form in to this trip, which we expect to be a high scoring game. Wilczek should get in on the action, and we’re backing the forward to score any time this weekend.
