Houston Dynamo vs New York Red Bulls Predictions

Houston Dynamo are in the midst of a four-game losing streak in all competitions and their guests on Thursday, New York RB, have lost two of their last three matches in league and cup. New York RB have three more points on the board than their hosts this season but have played an extra game more so really there isn’t much between the pair in terms of their overall performance in the MLS so far this season.

Cerén scored the only goal of the first half in the twenty-fifth minute to hand Houston Dynamo a halftime lead away at New En gland Revolution but the hosts equalised early in the second forty-five. The game appeared to be heading for a draw until New England scored in the last minute to pinch a 2-1 win but, on the balance of play, the hosts did deserve all three points.

New York RB took an eighth-minute lead at home to Chicago Fire last time out through Romero, and White netted shortly before the hour mark to double the hosts’ advantage. Chicago Fire pulled a goal back nine minutes from time but Royer restored the hosts’ two-goal lead in stoppage time to wrap up a 3-1 victory.

The head to head record between these two sides and both team’s performances over the last few weeks, suggests that over 2.5 goals will be scored on Thursday and that the game is likely to end in a draw. Five of the last seven meetings between these two clubs have produced over 2.5 goals and the pair have drawn ten of their thirty encounters over the years. Four of Houston Dynamo’s last five and five of New York RB’s last six matches have produced over 2.5 goals. Houston Dynamo have conceded at least two goals in each of their last five matches, while New York RB have conceded two goals in three of their last six matches, which is why we’re backing a 2-2 draw between the pair on Thursday.

Manotas leads the way for Houston Dynamo this season with six goals in the MLS, while White top scores for New York RB with five. We’re confident that over 2.5 goals will be scored in Thursday’s match and have predicted a final scoreline of 2-2. Both teams have been conceding goals on a regular basis of late and when the pair meet they more often than not produced at least three goals. There hasn’t been a draw in this fixture since 2014 so it’s about time the pair played out a stalemate.
