      Huddersfield vs Wolverhampton Predictions

Huddersfield’s woes continued at the weekend as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against a Newcastle side also struggling against the tide of the relegation battle. But while the Magpies were struggling a bit, The Terriers have pretty much been washed out to sea already.

They sit rock bottom of the table with a minuscule tally of 11 point from 27 games, leaving them some 14 points adrift of safety with just 33 points left to play for. Avoiding relegation now would require a turnaround of monumental proportions, and there is very little to suggest that they’re capable of such a feat.

That loss to Newcastle leaves them without a victory since the end of November. They have lost 14 of the 15 competitive matches they have played since then, only managing to pick up a single point away to Cardiff back in January. In fact, The Terriers’ last win was in the reverse of this fixture when they visited Molineux.

While Huddersfield have been falling into their pit of doom, Wolves have been going from strength to strength. The Premier League newcomers picked up a point away to Bournemouth at the weekend to leave them joint on points with Watford in the race for 7th place.

They are unbeaten in 5 Premier League matches and have won 3 of them, including a tough 3-1 victory away to Everton. In fact, Wolves have only lost 3 of their last 13 Premier League games, and have managed to transfer that form over to the FA Cup and now have a quarter final to look forward to.

Away from home their form does get a little patchier, but 3 wins from their last 6 league games and only a singular defeat to Manchester City isn’t exactly a bad return. Considering they’re facing a Huddersfield side who have lost their last 7 Premier League home games on the bounce, it’s surprising to see the visitors given such generous odds here.

The hosts have picked up a grand total of 5 points at the John Smiths Stadium this season, losing 11 of their 14 league games there. Unsurprisingly, we’re backing a Wolves Win on Tuesday along with a 2-1 correct score prediction.
