Huesca vs Alaves Predictions

  • Alaves are unbeaten in their last six La Liga games (W2, D4).
  • Babazorros have accrued seven points from their last three matches on the road.
  • Huesca are without a win in their opening 12 La Liga starts (D8, L4).

Huesca’s Wait For First La Liga Win to Go On

Alaves are making steady headway under boss Pablo Machin and the Basque outfit look great value to extend their unbeaten run to seven against bottom side Huesca this Saturday.

Babazorros finished 16th last season and only narrowly avoided relegation, but they look set for a much more fruitful campaign this time around if recent results and performances are anything to go by.

Alaves battled their way to a 0-0 stalemate against second-placed Real Sociedad at Mendizorroza last time out to make it six games without loss (W2, D4) – a sequence which has included a 1-1 home draw against champions Barcelona and a superb 1-2 success over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Anything close to those efforts here should see Alaves clinch all three points at El Alcoraz, against a Huesca side who remain rooted to the foot of the table after a 3-3 draw at Granada last weekend.

That result racked up Huesca’s eighth draw in 12 and last term’s Segunda winners need to get victories on the board soon to prevent them from getting detached.

The hosts’ high volume of stalemates and obvious ability to be competitive in the top flight influences us to adopt a cautious approach for this fixture, even though we fancy Alaves for the points. At the odds available, a wager on the visitors in the ‘Draw No Bet’ market makes massive appeal and will see stakes returned should Alaves fail to breakthrough.

There shouldn’t be too many goals in this one with only 33% the sides’ combined La Liga games producing over 2.5 goals, so we’re also forecasting a 0-1 victory for Pablo Machin’s men.
