Reason For Israel vs Scotland Betting Tips

Scotland’s 2-0 win over Albania last month was a massive result for the whole country. They’ve got their eye on top spot in their Nations League group, and they’re expected to be in with a chance of promotion. Of course, that would bring them into the play-offs for a spot at Euro 2020, which would be a boost for the national team’s fortunes. Their play-off push brings them to Israel this week, as the Scots face a crucial test on the road in the Nations League.

Israel warmed up for this clash with a visit to Windsor Park last month, but there wasn’t much to fear. Northern Ireland made changes for that clash, and ran out 3-0 winners. That defeat came on the back of a 1-0 loss to Albania in their Nations League opener, a result which has already dented Israel’s hopes of making the Euros. The home side are now on a four game winning streak, so Scotland will be hunting points in their visit to Haifa.

Alex McLeish was under huge pressure in the Albania clash, with his early return to the national job bringing some poor results. The former Rangers boss saw his side humiliated 4-0 by Belgium days before that win, which brought the criticism of the Scotland team to a peak. After three straight defeats, they pulled off a huge win which puts them in with a chance of making the play-offs for the next European Championship. However, will their return to form continue in this trip?

The visitors have to be buoyed by their opponent’s dismal recent form. The Scots had made noticeable strides in their loss to the Red Devils, and that carried into their big clash with Albania. Things seem to have turned a corner, and McLeish is hoping his young squad can take that confidence and claim a win on the road. They meet an Israel side who have lost seven of their last eight matches, while they’ve been beaten in four on the bounce at home.

The hosts finished their World Cup qualifiers with defeats to Albania, Macedonia and Spain, while their last clash at home saw Romania pick up a victory. Since the start of 2015 only Liechtenstein and Andorra have lost here, and we can’t see Scotland joining that list. They should be fully equipped to claim three points, and the visitors are great value on the Draw No Bet market here.
